"We're fighting them over there, so we don't have to fight them here."  Who said that? A lot of people.  Who said it first? It doesn't really matter.  It doesn't matter, because although we are are fighting them over there, they are fighting us here, anyway.  Keep in mind that I use verbs like 'fight' and 'fighting' as defined in definition one: 'combat", and not definition three: "argue", as pusillanimous politicians, like Hitlary do.
          Even NPR reported this morning that the Iraq situation is better right now, since "The Surge" and such, than it has been since early, early 2006.  Despite that admission, we know that it should be going even better, with even fewer American casualties.  We know that this whole stupid, but necessary war should have been concluded sometime around September 21, 2001.  The war is stupid because of the medieval morons over there who started it and because of the mediocre morons here who won't finish it.  It is necessary because; well, of the medieval morons over there who started it. 
              Keep in mind, that when I speak or write of "the war", I am not referring to Iraq or Afghanistan.  Iraq and Afghanistan are merely battles or campaigns within the war to which I refer, which is the global war, not on terrorism, but against Islamofascism, a cultist conglomeration of countries, cliques, councils, kooks and killers who utilize terrorism as their primary war fighting stratagem, which is carried out in the name of and for the perpetuation of the most repugnantly irrational and unreasonable religion among all of the irrational and unreasonable religions.      Both fronts might seem like wars, since we've allowed both of these campaigns to continue for way too long.  They've lasted this long because we have refused to truly fight back.  We've waged these two 'wars' with a plan based on political correctness, rather than on military expediency.  We've operated under orders that their "civilians" are more important than our own soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen.  We've preceded with a program of criminal prosecution against Abu Ghraib guards and of those men known as The Haditha Marines, railroading cases against obedient soldiers and a few of the best of "The Few; The Proud...", while four and a half years after his malicious melee, Asan Akbar is still playing the system of automatic appeals of his convictions of murder, which should have been tried as capital treason in uniform.  The military courts did properly sentence Akbar to death.  It will be interesting to see how much longer we shall have to support this worthless piece of flotsam before they finally do kill him.
         Similarly, here in America, Spc. Ryan Anderson was convicted of treason in uniform.  We get to support him for the rest of his sorry, worthless life, as the court martial recommended a sentence of life imprisonment.  Then again, we might not, as the same court did allow for the possibility of parole at some point!  Then we have the recently concluded as a mistrial trial of The Holy Land Foundation and it's members.  They were charged with all sorts of money laundering and related financial crimes.  There's that Julani fellow from Long Island who was arrested for violating some arms act and of more money laundering for selling fighter jet parts to Iran.  Why aren't these individuals and organizations being charged with wartime treason and/or espionage, depending on their citizenship status, and upon conviction, being executed or exiled to the worst of The Rat Islands?
         Don't overlook the Muslims' blatant attacks on our soil.  Whether it's John Mohammed and Lee Malvo sniping citizens around the DC area, or the other Mohammeds who wounded one in Houston in 2003, killed two and wounded two at the El Al counter at LAX in 2002, and injured nine in a vehicular attack at UNC Chapel Hill last year.  Remember names like Mujtaba, Ohmeed, Naveed, Biswaneth, and Sulejman.  At least Joel had the decency to kill himself at the scene of his failed attack at the 2005 football game in Oklahoma.  Altogether, these warriors for Allah have killed at least twenty-two Americans, including at least one pregnant woman, while wounding over forty others.  Don't forget that there was a question of Islamist connection and/or influence in the case of the Virginia Tech wacko.  And no one will ever convince me that Timothy McVeigh acted alone, or with minimal help from a couple of other dirt floor poor, dumb mass rednecks.  That attack always screamed Islamofascism.  The authorities treat these acts as violent crimes.  These events are not just examples of the acts of random violence to which we've become much too accustomed.  They are planned, asymmetrical military attacks.  Because only one, or maybe two participants are involved, it is perhaps too easy to dismiss these acts as random acts of violence, rather than military tactical attacks.  There are also such cases as the Buffalo cell, "The Shoe Bomber", the Fort Dix plot, the millennium plot, the two Islamist students from Florida, who were obviously on their way to attack the Naval brig in South Carolina.  I believe that we just let those two go.
         Alongside that problem that we refuse to face, is the ongoing slaughter of our people by illegal invaders from south of our borders and elsewhere.  WorldNet Daily reports that about a dozen Americans are murdered by illegal aliens every day, and another baker's dozen are killed by illegal alien drunken drivers every day.  Do the math.  It makes the casualty figures from overseas pale in comparison.  What are we doing with these 'perps'?  We're spending millions of taxpayer dollars on dragged-out trials and imprisonments that are largely responsible for the overpopulation of our local, state, and federal correctional facilities.
         Now, there's a new enemy, which we are also ignoring, at our own peril.  China continues to send us poison pet food, tainted wheat gluten, lead painted toys and swallowable toys that, if and when swallowed, morph into some chemical equivalent of some date rape drug.  The Chicoms threaten our economic survival through threats of currency manipulation and other means about which I am too much of an economic idiot and money moron to fully understand, but about which I understand enough to be worried.  Now, one of their attack submarines just pops up right in the middle of one of our Navy's exercises, just to show that they can, thanks to Bill Clinton and Madeline Albright giving them the knowledge necessary for such an occurrence.  Last week, they crash one of their ships into the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and spill 58,000 or so gallons of heavy fuel into the bay.  My guess is that they meant to take the bridge down and spill much more fuel.  Though there's no proof of this yet, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop concerning the recent story that many of the chemical compounds that American pharmaceutical companies are using to make our medications are being constructed in communist China. 
         So, again, the question posed by the headline remains.
